LaoNet is a Lao global network of human resources, using Information Technology to harnest the potential goodwill and the sysenergy of the resources to contribute to the betterment of all aspects of Lao communities.

LaoNet to be:

a forum of choice networking Lao global resources in addressingto Lao issues.
an independent self supporting Network.
reputed for competency and commitment to high standards.
vibrant, collaborative, responsive professional group of concerned multi-ethnic members.
reknown for its excellent services through innovation, teamwork, productivity and resource sharing.

LaoNet Goals:
* Achieve financial stability by mid 1999.
* Build quality Lao archive ("Bane_Lao", "WWW Lao VL", "www.global.lao.net")
* Increase membership to some 500 accomodating various projects group.
* Increase projects and interest groups to 20 a year.
* To complete 5 significant projects per year.
* To encourage and develop Leadership among our members (LaoCore team).
* Setup LaoNet marketing group.
* Setup a services development group.
* Setup a consultancy service group.
* Develop Lao Information Technology documentation, tools and applications.
* Expand community Internet access points (LaoNet ISP).
* Contribute to Laos Internet connectivity.
* "Face to Face" conference in Laos by year 2000.
* Develop a resource of "Brain Bank" ready to be tapped where it is needed.
* Bridge accross the gaps:

the generations of Lao people,
the Lao State and her people,
the Lao State and the world.

* To promote and exemplify our social responsibility.
* Build trust of the group.
* Be dedicated and diligent to resolve through general consensus.
* Empowere and encourage group ownership of problems.
* Increase equity in access to education, information and services
